My parents are currently on vacation with their friends from high school. They called me from their hotel on Bourbon Street in New Orleans to tell me that on the way they stopped in Kiln, MS, at Brett Favre's family bar (Lord), wrote my name on a bra with a fake phone number and stapled it to the wall.

They are sooooooo going in a home someday.

Someone just called me at work and said, "Your job must be like trying to herd cats."

It is.

I just sneezed twice at work. No one said "Bless you," but I still said, "Thank you" out loud, anyway. To nobody. I need to go lie down now.

On a completely separate note to the Chicagoans out there - anyone going to The Dirtbombs show on Thurs. at the Double Door? Show starts at 9 PM. It's going to be Detroitalicious.

People of Wisconsin: I love you.

My parents both voted for Obama via an absentee ballot (they're on vacation) and my aunt did a little volunteer worked for Obama in Eau Claire, WI. Everyone in my family but my grandma voted for Obama. Why does that not surprise me?

(Grandma voted for Hillary. It could've been worse, I realize.)

Starting to decorate my place a little more. Just bought these wall decals from Blik last night. And if I get sick of em, they're easy to take off or replace.

I also found Ryan Berkley on Etsy last night and fell in love with his stately animal prints. Especially after I read his descriptions about the prints. Cracked me up.

"These two have been lovebirds ever since the misses walked into the bank where mister worked to take out a loan. They've now been together for 31 years and they are as in love now as they ever were. She still loves the way he always tells jokes incorrectly and he still thinks it's cute when she swears while doing the crossword puzzle. This pair is made to last."

"This stately tiger has seen a battle or two in his time. He is well decorated, his ranking is General, and, believe it or not, he's a pretty nice guy. He is quite a good luck charm if you bring him along to your board game party."

"Tragically this squirrel has a vicious peanut allergy. Luckily he lives in an area that has an abundance of berries."

So cute. Thanks, Ryan.

On a much lighter note, here is a photo of me and "my" band during live band karaoke!

Bust it!
Ugh, I am so sad to hear about the Northern Illinois school shootings. My former boss' daughter, also named Megan, currently is a sophomore there and while I'm sure she's okay, I don't know yet for certain. The ironic thing is, I remember my old boss telling me she wanted to send her daughter there because it was "safe."

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! I love ya, I love ya!

I just rapped Young MC's "Bust a Move" in front of about 100 people at the Cubby Bear in Chicago. After about 7 beers, you try and do that. Good luck.

"In the city, ladies look pretty. Guys tell jokes so they can seem witty. Tell a funny joke just to get some play, then you try and make a move and she says "no way. Girls a fakin' ... goodness sakin', They want a man who brings home the bacon, Got no money and you got no car, Then you got no woman and there you are."

I held my own, but I'm out of breath again just thinking about the whole thing.

Oddly, I know nearly every word to this song but I couldn't tell you very much about the Civil War.
Going to watch co-workers play in their Bags League tonight. The fact that there IS a "Bags League" is amazing to me. I'm really going for the beer and live karaoke afterwards. I'm planning on bringing the house down again to Dolly Parton's "9 to 5."

It's ridiculously cold here in Chicago. The kind of cold when the wind hits you, you groan, your eyes tear up and immediately freeze to your face and you wonder why the hell you didn't move to balmy Moscow when you had the chance. This truly fucking sucks.

This weekend, my friend, Kat, was in town from Michigan. She's my girrrl. We had the pleasure of going out on another company's dime, I (of course) drank too much (free) gin, and I was in bad, bad shape this morning. Can you really blame me, though? It was free! But I never thought gin would turn it's back on me like that. All I've ever done is love you, gin, and this is the thanks I get. Bleck.

My parents drove from Wisconsin today to drop off their cat, Winston, who will be staying with me for the next 3 weeks while they go on vacation. Because apparently they don't want their daughter to ever date again. But while they were down here, my dad helped me hang this new mirror and this chandelier in my bathroom. It hangs over Wally's litter box.

It's Saturday, and I feel like dancin!

Huckabee apparently won West Virginia. Why does this not surprise me? It's like 2004 all over again.

For the record, if there were ever a "President Huckabee," I...I...don't even know what I would do with myself. Please reassure me this will never, ever happen.
It's Super Fat Tuesday!

Go ahead, eat the entire bowl of chips and while you're at it, let your greasy forefinger gently glide over Barak Obama's name in the electronic polling.

America thanks you.

If you went to see this movie, we're no longer friends.

Confidential to Couch and D-blogged: Sorry I pooped out on you guys last night -- exhausted, I konked out by 11:30. My apologies for the lameness.
